Who We Help
We can help anyone who:
- Is seeking support, assistance and guidance in making an application to the Family Court
- Needs support in preparing accurate and properly structured paperwork in Family Court proceedings
- Is looking for clear explanations without complicated legal jargon
In recent years and after significant cuts to the availability of Legal Aid, more people are representing themselves in Family Court. People who represent themselves in Court are referred to as ‘litigants in person’.
However, the Family Court process still relies heavily on the submission of formal documentation. Submitting the wrong form, missing important details or misunderstanding how a document is used can lead to unnecessary delays, additional stress and confusion.
Somewhat surprisingly, the Court expects a litigant in person to follow the rules and procedure in the same way a formally trained and experienced lawyer would. In fact, Judges will not offer any ‘special treatment’ to those who are not familiar with the law or Court process. It is therefore essential that when making an application to Court, you understand exactly what you are asking the Court to do and crucially, the factors the Court will consider in making a decision.
With that in mind, Family Law Forms exists to bridge that gap — by helping you understand what to include in your application to give you the best possible chance of gaining the results you want and to navigate the process with confidence.
We can help you prepare applications using the following forms:-
C100 Form for Child Arrangements Order, Specific Issue Order, and Prohibited Steps Order applications.
C1A Form for providing additional information in conjunction with a C100 form when allegations of harm are raised.
C2 Form for applications made within existing proceedings
C79 Form for applications for enforcement of Child Arrangements Orders
FL401 for applications for Non-Molestation and Occupation orders.
In addition to assisting with application forms, we can also provide detailed and clear guidance around supporting documents such as position statements and witness statements, which are commonly used to present your position in writing to the Court.
We aim to ensure you are not overwhelmed with legal language, but to explain the purpose of each document in plain English so you can approach the process with confidence and clarity.
We offer scheduled telephone appointments giving you the flexibility to talk through your application with a legal expert and get the answers you need to the questions you have.
The information provided by Family Law Forms is intended as general guidance only. It does not constitute legal advice. If you require personalised legal advice you should always consult a qualified solicitor.
